Here at Oakbark we are a family of very successful Whippet Breeders  beginning way back in 1964 when Dennis and Dorothy Meakin aquired their very first Whippet. Daughter Julie fell for the new addition to the family and this was the beginning of the Oakbark kennel.

Why Oakbark? Well Dennis and Dorothy owned their own shoe repair company and Dennis came across a very high quality leather by the name of Oakbark and that's where it all began.

Granddaughter's Sarah and Natalie also fell for the whippets and have both been part of the Oakbark Kennel from a young age.

Today Julie, Sarah and Natalie are continuing the Oakbark line

We also have over 10 overseas Champions

An achievement we are all very proud of in our lovely breed and hope to continue into the future.
